Athens College Elementary School - Grade 4 Open Day: "Our Place in Time"
On Wednesday, May 14, during Open Day, Athens College Elementary School Grade 4 students presented their interdisciplinary research project "Our Place in Time". It was a day filled with colors, sounds, flavors, and history; a true celebration of knowledge and creativity. Each class showcased a different geographical region of Greece through theatrical performances, game shows, songs, dances, artistic creations, and culinary presentations.
Specifically:
4a – Epirus, a place full of beauty and history
4b – Il Fiore di Levante
4c – Report on the Peloponnese
4d – Crete, the enchantress of the Mediterranean
4e – Journey to the Aegean!
4f – Memories from Central Greece
The students explored the unique characteristics of each region. They researched, wrote and edited the content of their presentations, decorated their classrooms with themed crafts, designed the invitations, selected the background music, and curated a wonderful art exhibition at the school entrance. They also danced and sang traditional songs. Naturally, the event also included delightful tastes: each class prepared authentic recipes and treats to share with guests.
Congratulations to the teachers and students for their outstanding work and for offering a memorable experience to all. A heartfelt thank you as well to the parents for their invaluable collaboration!
