Athens College Elementary School - Participation in the 31st Annual Meeting of HELMEPA Junior Representatives
On Friday, May 16, 2025, the 31st Annual Meeting of HELMEPA Junior Representatives was successfully held at the Stelios Philanthropic Foundation's event hall. School delegations from across Greece gathered to showcase their efforts in protecting the marine environment.
Athens College Elementary School actively participated in the HELMEPA Junior Educational Program during the 2023–2024 school year, with seven Grade 1 and 2 sections involved. As a culmination of this collective effort, our school was represented at this year's HELMEPA Junior Representatives Meeting by student Iro Psarropoulou and teacher Chrysostomos Leyteratos, who presented selected student projects and initiatives.
The event also featured an experiential exhibition of student work, emphasizing their awareness on the protection of the marine environment. Particularly noteworthy were seats crafted from recycled materials such as fishing nets — a striking example of sustainable design and ecological creativity.
We extend our sincere thanks to Mr. Dimitris Kazas, Head of the HELMEPA Junior Program, and his entire team for the excellent organization of the event and their continued educational efforts.
Warm congratulations to our participating teachers, I. Adamis, M. Karangelou, K. Karatziou, E. Karava, C. Leyteratos, G. Mega, and E. Neofotistou, as well as to Assistant Director for Grades 1 & 2, V. Pavlou, for coordinating the activities.
