On Thursday, April 3, 2025, the lecture "Fostering Optimism: Learning, Acting, Changing" by Angele Papantoniou '03 and George Kokolas took place, as part of the ongoing series "Open Meetings: Presenting My Work" of the Adult Programs.
Through an interactive presentation, attendees explored how small shifts in mindset can lead to behavioral changes and cultivate a more meaningful and optimistic daily life.
About the speakers:
Angele Papantoniou graduated from Athens College in 2003. She is the founder of the Human Flourishing Movement and Board Member of the International Positive Education Network. She holds a Master's in Applied Positive Psychology (MAPP), a Bachelor's in Psychology and Sociology (University of Leicester) and a specialization in Character Education (University of San Diego).
George Kokolas is a Positive Educator affiliated with the Human Flourishing Movement and a member of IPEN Greece. His credentials include a Level 5 Diploma in Positive Psychology and a Level 5 certification as a Positive Education Practitioner. He also holds a degree in English Literature and is a LEVEL7 TEFL certified teacher, as well as an ADVANCED Neurolanguage Coach. With more than 24 years of experience as Academic Director & Teacher Trainer at Express Publishing and as Member at Large of TESOL GREECE, he has made more than 1,000 presentations at international conferences, and in 2022 he was voted as one of the most popular ELT influencers in Greece.
