Psychico College High School Young Entrepreneurship Club qualifies for final of "Social Innovation Relay (SIR)" Competition

The Psychico College High School Young Entrepreneurship Club qualified for the final of the "Social Innovation Relay (SIR)" Competition of Junior Achievement Greece with the social enterprise BrewCrafts.

The Competition will take place on April 19, 2024 online. 10 teams from schools all over Greece will participate in the final. The Club's team will be represented by students: Parthenis Georgios (Grade 11), Stergiou Eugenia (Grade 10), Tsiflikiotis Nikolaos (Grade 11) and Kamoudi Marilena (IB DP Y2).

The aim of the social enterprise BrewCrafts is the reduction of food waste and in particular the utilization of by-products resulting from the processing of cereals during the production of beer. More specifically, students created biscuits based on Brewers' Spent Grain (BSG), the main by-product of the beer brewing process. The resulting raw material, which most often ends up either in landfills or as animal feed, is rich in nutrients, making it a superfood as an addition to conventional meal.
