Eco-Connections: eTwinning Ventures at Athens College Elementary

Feb 21, 2024
At Athens College Elementary School, we are proud to participate in yet another European eTwinning Program, namely the "Resource Don’t Go" initiative, in collaboration with schools and organizations from Sweden, Germany, Turkey, Lithuania, Spain, Greece, and Romania. Under the coordination and supervision of Ms. Marianthi Giannakopoulou, 6th-grade students will engage in various activities. They will have English language conversations with peers from participating schools, expanding their linguistic horizons while discussing pertinent topics related to bioeconomics. Utilizing age-appropriate educational materials, they will grasp the fundamentals of bioeconomic concepts, paving the way for informed discussions about sustainable practices. Furthermore, they will collaboratively design cards for a tabletop game focused on bioeconomics, fostering creativity and teamwork. The culmination of their efforts will involve them in exchanging the cards they've created and immersing themselves in an interactive gaming experience.

The scientific oversight of our endeavors is provided by Universität Hohenheim in Germany, which will also be organizing a Bioeconomics Festival upon completion of the project. This collaborative effort promises a platform for showcasing the culmination of our eTwinning Program's work, emphasizing the significance of sustainable practices and environmental stewardship.

At Athens College Elementary School, we are proud to be part of the eTwinning community and to be actively engaged in projects that promote collaboration, cultural understanding, and environmental sustainability. Through initiatives like the "Resource Don’t Go" project, we aim to inspire and empower our students to make a difference in the world, one sustainable action at a time.
