🦃✨ Athens College Elementary School's Heartwarming Thanksgiving Celebration! ✨🦃

Nov 28, 2023

Once again, the English Department orchestrated a truly memorable Thanksgiving Celebration under the theme "A Wave of Gratitude." Our Grade 3-6 students shared touching reflections on what they are thankful for, creating a stunning display that showcased the diversity of gratitude within our school community.

Adding a touch of whimsy to the festivities, our creative Grade 1 and 2 students embraced the enchanting tale of "The Ugly Pumpkin." Their unique squash creations, now proudly on display, beautifully captured the spirit of the season.

On Thanksgiving Day, Grade 1 and 2 students enjoyed a delightful performance of "The Ugly Pumpkin" presented by two enthusiastic Grade 2 classes. At the end of their performance, a delightful group singing session ensued, where the uplifting tunes of Thanksgiving songs enveloped the occasion in a symphony of joy and warmth.

Grade 3 students were treated to an insightful presentation by their peers, exploring the theme of "Thanksgiving: Then and Now." Through interactive games, they engaged with the rich history and evolution of this beloved tradition.

Adding a modern twist to the celebration, the Fulbright Fellows crafted an entertaining presentation inspired by the sitcom Friends, titled "The one where Bodossakeio celebrates Thanksgiving." The presentation ended with a video on gratitude, collaboratively created with the assistance of Grade 4-6 students and members of staff.

Though the event has concluded, the echoes of gratitude and joy linger within our School walls. We extend our thanks to all participants for making this Thanksgiving Celebration a resounding success, fostering a sense of unity and appreciation within our school community. 🍂🌟
