Swedish Teachers visit the Athens College Elementary School within the framework of the Erasmus program

On Friday, September 21, teachers George Tsarsitalides and Henrik Fredriksson from Gränbyskolan, Uppsala, Sweden visited Athens College Elementary School in order to explore collaboration opportunities between the two schools for the European Erasmus Program. The guests presented the Swedish educational system to the English Department of our School and after attending the English lesson of Ms. Kafetzopoulou and Ms. Giannakopoulou, they took a tour by the latter of the premises and discussed the ways of teaching sustainability and how they are applied in our School.

Afterwards, Ms. Kafetzopoulou, Ms. Giannakopoulou and the guest colleagues attended the Climate Era workshop at the B & M Theocharakis Foundation for the Fine Arts and Music on the new trends on Climate Change and the role of environmental and especially climate education for the new generation, society, and the economy. The workshop was attended by Sarah Margono, Senior Project Officer Section of Education for Sustainable Development from UNESCO and Pramod Kumar Sharma, Senior Education Director from the Foundation for Environmental Education, as well as distinguished guests who discussed, in three round tables, the following themes: "Education for Sustainability for the Young Generation", "Environmental Education and Society" and "Environmental Education and Business".
