Athens College Elementary School teacher Ms. Marianthi Giannakopoulou was among the 17 educators who were recognized for their pedagogical work on promoting environmental education and sustainability. The Foundation for Environmental Education (FEE) Teacher Award is given to educators who have engaged in the “Ecological Schools”, “Learning about Forests”, and “Young Reporters for the Environment” programs and inspire students to take action for sustainable environmental management. Our teacher is the first Greek woman to receive such a distinction.
