Distinction for Athens College High School Students in the Greek Economics Olympiad for Schools

The Greek Economics Olympiad for Schools was held for the third year, and was organized by the The Center for Liberal Studies – Markos Dragoumis (KEFiM). It is a national competition addressed to High School students from Greece or the Hellenic Diaspora and aims to contribute to the further development of students' skills and knowledge in the field of economics.

The Competition consists of three rounds: The School Round, the Regional Round, and the Final Round. Our School organized a preparatory class which consisted of Grade 10, 11 and 12 students under the valuable guidance of teacher Mr. Anastasios Ioannou, with weekly meetings taking place every Thursday.

The School Round (Round 1) of the 3rd Hellenic Economic Olympiad for Schools took place online in February 2023, in which 8 Athens College High School students received distinctions and qualified for the next round. More specifically, the following students qualified for the Regional Round (Round 2) of the competition:  Alexandros Aesopos, Dimitrios Aesopos, Elle Amiralis, Stylianos Nikolaos Antoniadis, Sofia Maria Antoniadou, Angeliki Karyaba, Aris Panagiotis Tsomokos, and Filippos Christodoulou.

The Regional Round of the Competition was held in person on  April 1 - 2, 2023 at the Hellenic-American Union. Out of a total of 6 students who participated in this round, 3 Grade 12 students were successful, qualifying for the Final Round, which will be held in early July 2023.

The students who have qualified for the Final Round are:

  • Alexandros Aesopos
  • Dimitrios Aesopos
  • Aris Panagiotis Tsomokos
