Merit Awards and Scholarships 2021-2022

On Tuesday, November 23, 2021 a special ceremony was held at the Choremi Theater for the bestowal of Merit Awards and Merit Scholarships to Athens College and Psychico College students for academic year 2021-2022. The criteria for these awards are the outstanding academic performance and excellent conduct record of students.

Prizes were awarded by Athens College President Professor Costas Synolakis ’75, who wished our students to always aim higher, pointing out that seeking excellence in all areas is what is the driving force for continuous progress.

General Coordinator of the Hellenic – American Educational Foundation School Units Mr. Christos Papanikolaou also gave a congratulatory address to students.

 

Merit Scholarships

Merit Scholarships for academic year 2021-2022 are awarded to:

A)Two IB1 students who ranked topmost in their class in Athens College or Psychico College and who were accepted in the first year of the International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme of the College:

*The family of Stylianos Voudouris offered the amount of the Scholarship to the College’s Financial Assistance Program.

 

B) Three students who graduated from Athens College and Psychico College Grade 9 in June 2021, receiving the 2nd, 3rd and 5th highest score in their class (Grade Point Average) *:

*SIOULAS AGGELOS – MARIOS received the highest score among Gymnasium graduates and KAILAS CHRISTOS – GEORGIOS ranked 4th. They are both already Merit Scholarship recipients.

The Bodossakis Athanasiadis Memorial Award is accorded to an Athens College Junior High School graduate who, in addition to his excellent academic performance, has distinguished himself primarily for his ethos, his multifaceted personality and multifarious participation in School activities.

Scholarships of Special Interest are accorded to students who demonstrated outstanding performance in Athletics or the Arts (Music or Visual Arts).
