Psychico College Elementary School 3rd Grade End of Year Celebrations

Jul 14, 2021

As part of the 3rd grade end of year celebrations for 2020-2021, students prepared and presented excerpts from the Iliad and the Odyssey.

Reading and interpreting the Homeric spectacle is not just a journey into the Greek world and culture.  It is an attempt to understand metaphysical concepts such as honor, bravery and morality, where the Homeric coloring gives these values the essentiality they warrant.  Heroes and antiheroes coexist and are involved with one another in order for the imaginary to be perceived as real or even as potentially feasible.  Similarly, humans and gods meet to satisfy the power of will, hope, and effort.

Because of the excellent collaboration between students and teachers and despite the daily difficulties and unexpected circumstances, this project was a crowning success, managing to raise awareness, cultivate young minds and move souls.
