Students in Grades 2 and 5 at Psychico College Elementary School had the pleasure of participating in a particularly interesting presentation on the world of radio, on the occasion of the launch of our school radio station, “Latseio Radio.”

Our school’s guest was Mr. Alexis Karakatsanis, a radio consultant and parent of a Grade 2 student, who spoke to the students about the history and evolution of radio, taking them back in time to when the radio was the “magic box” that brought people together through news, music, and favorite shows.

The students learned about the different types of radio stations, such as music, sports, children’s, and news stations, and discussed the important role radio can play in our daily lives, even today, through modern apps and mobile devices.

The discussion about preparing a radio program was particularly interesting. Mr. Karakatsanis explained to the children the basic steps of creating a program: choosing a topic, conducting thorough research and gathering information, selecting music, and emphasizing clear, simple, and meaningful speech.

In a few days, Grade 2 students will have the opportunity to create and present their own radio show through “Latseio Radio”!

The presentation was a unique experience for all students, filled with knowledge, creativity, and inspiration.
