As part of the Student Initiatives for the 2025–2026 school year, under the slogan “Our students support students,” the Student Community of Athens College Elementary School is supporting the “Floga” Association of Parents of Children with Cancer, through the initiative “Lighting the Flame of Learning, So No Child’s Hope Is Extinguished”.

In particular, the students are raising funds to fully equip the classroom at the Association’s facilities in Goudi for children who need not only the power of knowledge, but also love. The classroom will be transformed into a vibrant space for learning and creativity, a bright environment where knowledge meets hope.

The initiative also includes the donation of an interactive whiteboard to the 2nd Elementary School of Nafpaktos, in memory of little Anastasia and in honor of her mother, Xenia Fountzoula, a representative of Floga Nafpaktos.

“The mission of the Athens College Elementary School Student Community is to ensure that children facing challenges have access to quality education within an environment that supports, encourages, and inspires them. Our vision is of a school community that learns by giving, cultivates empathy, and takes action for the common good. As responsible, active, and socially conscious citizens, we aim to leave a meaningful “human footprint” on society once again this year—one of solidarity, humanity, and contribution."
