In 2007, a city stood up against climate change. Today, nearly 20 years later, more than 190 countries are participating in the world’s largest environmental initiative.

At our School, guided by our poster “I turn off the lights and…,” we transformed an hour of “darkness” into a bright celebration of creativity. We replaced the light switches with colorful Post-it notes, and every student became a “bright idea,” suggesting ways to spend quality time without electricity.

From games in the garden and reading by candlelight to family discussions and board games around the fireplace, we proved that the most beautiful moments don’t need electricity, but imagination.
