Athens College High School - Distinctions for students at the 13th Student Public Speaking Meeting in French "Conseil des Jeunes Citoyens 2026"

On Saturday, March 7, 2026, the 13th Student Public Speaking Competition in French, "Conseil des jeunes Citoyens," was held at De La Salle College in Thessaloniki, with 17 participating schools – many of them French-speaking – and 200 students from across Greece. The Student Public Speaking Meeting in French, " 𝗖𝗼𝗻𝘀𝗲𝗶𝗹 𝗱𝗲𝘀 𝗝𝗲𝘂𝗻𝗲𝘀 𝗖𝗶𝘁𝗼𝘆𝗲𝗻𝘀" is the only French Rhetoric and Debate Competition in Greece recognized by the Ministry of Education. It is a French-language simulation of an Open Citizens' Meeting that places students in the role of active citizens.

Athens College High School was represented by the following ten High School Grade 2 students: A.F. Arkadopoulou, E. Chamarakis, A. Kliafas, O.D. Lymperopoulos, E. Meteveli, C. Papavasileiou, E.M. Ralli, I. Stamboulopoulos, M. Stavropoulou, and M.R. Synolaki. The following students distinguished themselves:

Odysseas-Dimitrios Lymperopoulos won first place in the B2 SOLIDARITÉ-SOLIDARITY debating category and received the "Prix du Jeune Citoyen".

Ioannis Stamboulopoulos won first place in the B2 CULTURE debating category and received the "Prix du Jeune Citoyen".

Maria-Rafaela Synolaki won second place in the C1 TECHNOLOGIE – TECHNOLOGY debating category and received the "Prix du Jeune Orateur".

The students were prepared and accompanied to Thessaloniki by our School's French teachers, Ms. Anna-Louiza Vallindra and Ms. Maria Christidou.
