Athens College Elementary School - December at our Library
The Library took on a festive look, filled with smiles, stories, and creativity! Pages of books were opened, transporting us to Christmas worlds full of imagination, mystery, and collaboration. Authors, actors, and educators brought the spirit of Christmas to life through storytelling, theatrical performances, and workshops that thrilled young and old alike.
In Grade 1, we listened to the dramatized story "A Christmas Wish" by theater educator Myrto Panagou, laughed at "Kourampies Yesyes!" by Avgi Vagia, and met Svouras, who knocked down the Christmas tree, through the book by Alina Ioannou.
Grade 2 learned how to "Become Santa Claus" with Ioannis Glossopoulos, experienced an exciting mystery hunt with Christos Christopoulos and "Pierre, the Maze Detective", traveled to the magic of "The Ice Fairy" with Natassa Vouzioukou, and embarked on a Christmas adventure with "Rupert Tickerby and the Christmas Clock" by Jenny Koutsodimitropoulou.
Grade 3 also met Rupert Tickerby, listened to the tender story "Letters Hidden in the Christmas Tree" by Katina Tsantali, solved riddles in mazes with Christos Christopoulos, talked again about the value of giving with the book "Become Santa Claus" and gave "electric" energy to the carols in Mariliza Pontikou's STEAM workshop "Close the Circuit and Play the Carols."
In Grade 4, we experienced another mystery hunt and watched a theatrical narration based on the book "Five Friends" by Goni Louka, while Grade 5 also enjoyed the same exciting presentation.
Grade 6 had a unique experience: they met Spanish author Isaac Palmiola, creator of the "Perrock Holmes" and "Stranger Kids" series, listened to the theatrical narration "Five Friends" by Goni Louka, and met Vivian Ino Tsamadou with her book "Witches Don't Believe in Tears."
This year, our Library became the warmest Christmas refuge for stories, games, and creativity. We would like to thank everyone who shared the magic of Christmas with us!
