This year, we were delighted to accept the invitation from the Hellenic Society for the Protection of Nature, the national operator of the international Environmental Education network "Learning about Forests," and to take part in a special Christmas activity: decorating a "Tree of Treats" for the animals and birds of the forest.

On Tuesday, December 9, and on Thursday, December 11, the students of Elementary School Grades 1 and 2 respectively, together with their parents and teachers, gathered in our school dining room and, in a festive atmosphere, prepared decorations made of delicious, nutritious treats for our little friends in nature.

Then, we all went out into the forest and decorated our trees, bringing joy and food to the birds and animals that live there.

It was an activity that filled us with smiles and reminded us how important it is to care for the environment and its inhabitants—not only during the holidays, but every day!
