On Monday, November 24, the official launch of the European Project "Stop Waste Heroes" took place at our school. The initiative aims to raise awareness and reduce food waste in our daily lives and is implemented with the participation of Eco Schools students. Through educational activities and the STOP-WASTE App, students act as multipliers of knowledge, engaging their families and the wider community. Families become both recipients and active participants in a structured program that uses digital tools to record and reduce food waste.

In the first stage of the program's implementation, students from sections 5a, 5d, and 5f, along with their teachers, were informed by the Hellenic Society for the Protection of Nature and MSolutions about the importance of proper food management. Following this, students received special materials to help them and their parents record and measure household food waste.

At the same time, teachers V. Androutsopoulou, M. Giannakopoulou, L. Zachos, and P. Boznou will monitor food waste in the dining room and after snack time, while reinforcing the message of reducing food waste at school.

With small but meaningful steps, we are all embarking on a journey toward a more sustainable future and a society with less waste.
