Athens College Elementary School - The journey of the olive tree: Entrepreneurship with meaning
On Wednesday, November 19, Mr. Alexandros Kikizas '99, father of a Grade 5 student and alumnus of our School, visited the Bodossakeio and spoke with the student members of the Grades 5 & 6 Entrepreneurship Club about entrepreneurship. His presentation focused on olives and olive oil and was inspired by a deeply symbolic action carried out by the Club.
With the guidance and support of Mr. Grigoris Tzouvistas, Physical Education teacher, the students of the Entrepreneurship Club gathered olives from the olive tree planted in memory of student Michael Paschalakis. The goal of this initiative is to sell the olive oil produced at the Christmas Bazaar and donate the proceeds to support our school's Scholarship Fund.
Mr. A. Kikizas, a successful entrepreneur, spoke on the topic "The Journey of the Olive: From the Tree to our Plate," connecting the production of olives and olive oil with fundamental business principles, such as:
- creating products that respond to real needs,
- applying fair and reasonable pricing,
- using smart and effective advertising.
This inspiring experience stood out as a highlight of our School's Entrepreneurship Club activities, combining knowledge, values, and creativity.
