Anastasia Papanastasopoulou, student of Psychico College High School 3, won a distinction for her participation in the Afrika Tikkun charity organization and her mission to the Zolile Malindi Center in the Mfuleni community in Cape Town, South Africa, in June 2025. Our student is the first student under 17 from a European country to volunteer in person to support students at the Zolile Malindi Center through Afrika Tikkun's 'Egnite (Ages 7-18)' educational program.

As part of this program, Anastasia supported teachers in teaching English and Mathematics, gave a violin concert with Greek music pieces that she had arranged together with her College Conservatory teacher, Ms. Margarita Stathaki, shared with students her experiences from her own school and her participation in the College Conservatory, the Junior College Symphony Orchestra, and later the College Symphony Orchestra, and participated with students in sports and other creative activities.

Afrika Tikkun is the only charity in South Africa that supports children from birth, through their studies, to finding employment, with a holistic support model in a country plagued by illiteracy, unemployment, and hunger. The organization's education centers are exclusively English-speaking.
