Biology in Heidelberg with the Special Programs
Jul 14, 2025
Six students from our School participated in a special educational mission focused on scientific research and interdisciplinary learning in Heidelberg, Germany, during July 8-11, 2025. The program featured experiences in laboratories at two of Europe's leading scientific institutions. At the European Molecular Biology Laboratory (EMBL), students explored the study of DNA through practical lab sessions that introduced them to cutting-edge molecular biology techniques. Additionally, at the Max Planck Institute, they took part in a laboratory on infrared astronomy, acquiring valuable insights into how advanced technology is used to observe the universe. The students were especially honored to meet internationally renowned astronomer Professor Yiannis Tsapras, who shared his expertise and experience in the field of astronomy, inspiring the young participants to pursue their scientific interests with renewed enthusiasm and curiosity.
