On Wednesday, June 4, Athens College Elementary School had the pleasure and honor of hosting members of the esteemed Galatsi Petanque Association for a special event celebrating sports and culture.

During the visit, guests introduced students to the sport of pétanque through a captivating demonstration that showcased the game's precision, strategy, and appeal. Originating in France, pétanque served as a perfect link between sports and culture. Members of both the Petanque Club and the French Club took an active role in the event, emphasizing the interdisciplinary nature of the initiative.

Students eagerly participated in the activities, and had the opportunity to interact with experienced players and representatives of the club, learning basic techniques and rules of the game.

The event proved to be a memorable experience of interaction and cultural exchange, sparking students' enthusiasm to continue participating in the Petanque Club with renewed interest.

We extend our heartfelt thanks to the Galatsi Petanque Association for their kind presence and valuable contribution to our school community.
