Costis Maglaras graduated from Athens College in 1987 and went on to complete degrees in Electrical Engineering, first at Imperial College London, and then at Stanford University in the United States. He then joined Columbia University, where he has been a professor in the business school since 1998. He serves as Dean of Columbia Business School, and he is the David and Lyn Silfen Professor of Business. His research, teaching and work in industry focuses in the areas of data science and quantitative finance.
