Professor Peter Early's lecture to Athens College faculty members

On Monday, November 15, 2021, Dr. Peter Early, Professor Emeritus at the Center for Educational Leadership of the University College London Institute of Education gave a lecture to members of the Administration and educators of Athens College entitled: «Surviving, thriving and reviving in leadership: The personal and professional development needs of school teachers and leaders».

Peter Early visited Athens College during his short stay in Athens. His lecture was organized as part as the School’s continuous teachers’ professional development program. It was held at the Choremi Theater and was broadcast live for all members of the faculty to watch.

About Professor Peter Early

Peter Early is Professor Emeritus at the Center for Educational Leadership of the University College London Institute of Education. His collaboration with Athens College began in 2004 when he was invited to give a speech at a conference organized for the 80-year anniversary of Athens College. The conference, held in September 2006, was entitled: “Developing dynamic learning communities in a time of uncertainty and insecurity”. 

From 2009 to 2015, he coordinated the MA in Leadership offered by Athens College n collaboration with UCL Institute of Education of the University of London, as part of the Educate the Educators program. The MA in Leadership was successfully completed by 30 educators from Athens College and 5 educators from other schools.

Professor Early’ s areas of research are leadership, leadership development, school improvement, professional development, school evaluation, self-evaluation and school management. He is the author of many books, the most recent one entitled: «School Leadership and Education System Reform», which was published this year.
