College Christmas concert at the Megaron Athens Concert Hall

A very festive and emotional evening took place on Saturday, December 10, 2022, at the Dimitris Mitropoulos hall of the Megaron Athens Concert Hall. On the occasion of the International Day for Children (December 11), the College Symphony Orchestra along with the Athens College Junior High and High School Choir gave a Christmas concert dedicated to children, to support the Athens College Scholarship Program.

Opening remarks were given by the Chairwoman of the Board of Directors of the Hellenic-American Educational Foundation Ms. Annika Papantoniou and Athens College President Professor Costas Synolakis ’75.

 

Interschool Head of the Music Department Mr. Stefanos Tsokakis and Director of the Athens College Conservatory Mr. Dimitris Papagiannakis also shared a few words about the concert.

Students and teachers of the School and the Athens College Conservatory performed classic pieces by Antonio Vivaldi, Alan Silva, Harry Richards, Pedro Gilabert, Karl Jenkins and Christmas carols such as Jingle bells, O come, all ye faithful, Joy to the world and Silent Night.

The concert was conducted by Mr. Dimitris Papagiannakis.

This event was organized by the Parents’ Associations of the Athens College High School and Psychico College High School and I.B., as part of the celebration for the 30 years of the Athens College Conservatory.
