International Children’s Book Day

International Children’s Book Day

Apr 1, 2021

International Children’s Book Day, celebrated on April 2, anniversary of the birth of storyteller Hans Christian Andersen, is aimed at promoting reading appreciation. Pastime reading in early childhood broadens youngsters’ horizons, and facilitates in the development of thinking, communication, research and self-management skills.

“Charalampos Vellis” Library is once again participating in the celebration of this important day for books.  In order to adapt to the special circumstances brought about by the pandemic, during the week of 3/29 – 4/2, different, surprise activities aimed at reinforcing reading appreciation have been planned for the online Library lessons.  Each Kindergarten section will engage in a different activity.

The children of the Sea Bream section prepared little posters during Library time to inform the entire school community about this great day!
